Jeroen Merchiers

Jeroen is the Cofounder and CEO of Zazume, a company that manages, guarantees, and leverages residential rental payments, having successfully raised over 4 million euros in its recent history.

Previously, Jeroen served as the Managing Director and board member for Airbnb in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Over an 8-year tenure, he was instrumental in the region’s growth, from opening the first offices to leading the company to its IPO.

Before joining Airbnb, Jeroen was the COO at Groupalia and spent a decade in management consulting for international manufacturing and supply chain companies.

Jeroen holds an Industrial Engineering degree from Solvay in Brussels and an EMBA from IESE.

As an investor, he has backed 21Buttons, Jeff, and Trip4Real (which was sold to Airbnb).

Originally from Belgium, Jeroen has spent most of his life abroad and now calls Barcelona home. He is a father of three and a husband. His interests include technology, disruption, travel, and people.
